You can say "cantar con la garganta" which is the literal translation and is not incorrect.
Though, when you take singing lessons, the teachers always say: "no engoles",
meaning don't sing with the throat.
Consequence of throatsinging are nodules in the vocal chords, which in extreme cases only can be removed with surgery.
