Tech/Engineering - Other / hazardous waste
English term or phrase: shaking test
In order to be able to determine the leaching behaviour of waste, a leaching test is conducted. In a leaching test, the behaviour of a material is simulated in the laboratory, in order to predict its behaviour in practice in the medium and long term.
In leaching investigations, the extent of the contact between the material and water is expressed by the liquid/solid (L/S) ratio. The L/S ratio is the ratio between the amount of liquid used in the leaching test (in litres) and the amount of material employed (in kilograms dry weight). The L/S ratio fulfils the function of a timescale. The relationship between this relative timescale and the actual timescale is given by the speed with which a certain L/S ratio can be reached in practice. A low L/S ration concerns the short term, a higher one the longer term.
For the present, for the analysis both for the description and the check, the conduct of an L/S = 10 L/kg shaking test with a particle size < 10 mm is assumed (included in Tables 1.2, 2.1 and 3.1 of the Annex to the Bssa). The acid binding capacity (ABC) only requires to be established indicatively in this context. For this, the determination of the ABC to a neutral pH (7.0) is sufficient.

I have found "prueba de sacudida" and "prueba de percusión", as well as "prueba de vibración" and "prueba de agitación". Which one is correct? or neither of them?

Sorry for the long context, but I thought it would help... Thanks a lot in advance!
