See below Explanation: FTE stands for full-time employee (as opposed to a part-time employee). I have seen both terms translated as "empleado de jornada completa" and "empleado de media jornada." The FTE is the one that works 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week, at least. I hope this helps. |

Empleado de Tiempo Completo Explanation: Jornada is more for people who work the land (jornaleros), at least in Mexico we use tiempo completo instead of jornada but maybe it is common use in other latin american countris (I think jornada is a common word used in Chile and Argentina) |

[personal] equivalente a tiempo completo Explanation: Normalmente, FTE = Full-time equivalent, un concepto poco usado en círculos hispanos, y sin equivalente directo en español. Aquí tienes unas definiciones, sacadas de Termium: 1) full-time equivalent s F.T.E. s CORRECT OBS - For administrative purposes, a certain number of part-time students are considered full-time equivalent --- 2) English:Working Practices and Conditions full-time equivalent s CORRECT FTE s CORRECT DEF - In an operating budget, a calculation that factors out the length of time an employee works each week. s OBS - For example, if the scheduled hours of work were the same as the assigned hours of work and both had values of more than 30, the employee is deemed to be full-time. Where the assigned hours of work are less than the scheduled hours of work, the employee is working part-time. The full-time equivalent (or the portion of a full-time schedule worked by the part-time employee) is the ratio of the assigned hours of work to the scheduled hours of work. s OBS - Treasury Board no longer allocates or controls person-years. The government now indicates the size of the public service by using the full-time equivalent which considers casual employment, term employment, job sharing and so on. s 1997-05-16 Reference: http://www.termium.com |
