Explanation:
En un contexto parecido (tractores), he tenido que traducir esta expresión y el cliente (una de las primeras empresas del mundo de equipos agrícolas y viales)ha solicitado siempre que se traduzca como - pilar "A" -

Ejemplo:

"A" pillar monted exhaust --> tubo de escape montado en el pilar "A"

No sé si puede servirte, es totalmente literal, pero puede ser una referencia.
