Hola todos.

Necesito ayuda con tres términos del vocabulario marinero.

Tengo abiertas las preguntas correspondientes en la sección “law/patents”, pero quizás ésa no es una ubicación correcta.

No tengo mucho contexto, se trata de una lista que enumera partes del equipamiento de una gabarra en un contrato de fletamento:

(a) The rate of Hire shall include the following items;

(iii) Purchase of gauge guns
(vi) Tying below deck piping
(vii) Installing Viewing Port

gauge gun: la primera idea que se me ocurrió fue "pistola de calibración", pero no sé qué sentido pueda tener esto...

below deck piping = ¿tuberías bajo cubierta?

viewing port = ¿pueSto de observación?

Tengo un término, el viewing port es lo mismo que un porthole, una de esas ventanas redondas con vidrio (como ventana).

Según el diccionario para Ingenieros de Robb:
Porthole: (sb), porta, ojo de buey, portañola, (A)porta espía.

acá lo conocen más como ojo de buey.

Gauge guns:
Cuando buscas \"gauge guns\" en Internet siempre aparecen junto a un número, por ejemplo: 12 gauge gun. Lo mismo pasa cuando buscas pistolas calibre o pistolas de calibre.
No sé para qué se va a usar esta gabarra, pero hay referencias en Google como esta:

The 4-gauge shotgun shell was a scattergun round used in the early 20th century to hunt ducks - traditionally, a 4-gauge gun would be bolted down to the stern of a boat, and then the entire boat would be pointed in the general direction of a flock (yes, a whole flock) of ducks or other fowl.

Así que no veo raro tener un pistola abordo.

Por último dice:
(vi) tying below deck piping, which is the same as saying \"SECURING THE PIPING\" using brackets and such to fasten the pipes to the deck, overhead, or bulkhead....entonces diría (yo)
sujetar tubos por debajo de la cubierta. Me parece que tu opción también está bien.
