English term or phrase: Trados CAT
It's one of the requirements for a job
Spanish translation:Trados CAT = Trados Computer Asisted Translation
In this context, it refers to Trados (the commercial name of a certain Translation Management Tool) that allows translators to do Computer Assisted Translation (Traducción auxiliada por la computadora), which is a translation process in which the translator is aided in his currrent translation by refering to databases of previous translations of the source and target texts of similar materials(Translation Memories) that were created during the process of translating previous texts. Some companies demand that the translators be skilled in the use of this tool to be able to work for them, precisely because of existing databases that can be used for updates, etc.
