The GDx VCC shows wrong RNFL measurements in both normal and glaucoma patients
due to continuing problems with birefringence. In this study, 51% of glaucoma patients
and 25% of normal patients showed artifactual RNFL measurements. This artifact gets
worse with age, making progression impossible to detect in these scans. The authors
caution clinicians to be careful when interpreting GDx VCC results.
