En primer lugar, esta opción serviría tal vez para Argentina, ya que "trasnochados" puede significar todas estas definiciones que se plantearon antes: ignorantes, sumidos en la oscuridad, etc...
En una palabra, que no saben lo que hacen.
Te copio algunos ejemplos:
