Explanation:
Aunque me parece buena solución la de George, creo que se trata de dos acciones: 1)abrirse paso -desde la orilla- de la multitud y 2) escudriñar, buscar -o lo que te guste-, alguna huella de la presencia de ella. Eliminé el "desde la orilla" porque si entra en el salón y se abre paso, está implícito que es desde un extremo (a menos que entrara por el centro, proeza difícil aunque no imposible).
