Necesito ayuda con esta frase. Es un texto inspirado en el Beowulf. El que habla es Hrothgar (un antiguo rey) cuando Grendel, un monstruo, ha muerto a manos de Beowulf.
Hrothgar tiene un monólogo culpándose de todo lo ocurrido en su reino. Y exclama:
"But I could not live with the guilt, the SHAME!
Any more than I could KILL Grendel myself...
PAUSA
Yes, he was my son."

No logro entender la frase "Any more than..."

Agradecería mucho todo tipo de ayuda u orientación.
