Mi autora describe una (horrenda) planta que le regalaron como 'green in a sort of fake jolly way'. Supongo que quiere decir que es muy verde y muy estridente, como de mentira, pero quizá esté haciendo alguna referencia a la cultura popular estadounidense que se me escapa. ¿Alguien puede ayudarme? Sí, era eso: que jolly equivalía a "pretty" en el sentido de "very". Al final he puesto "de un verde alevoso, como falso", aunque todavía no descarto reescribirlo. Muchas gracias a todo el mundo y disculpad que haya tardado en cerrar la pregunta, porque no acertaba a decir si le daba "el premio" a una u otra respuesta siendo que todas son igual de buenas.

... o podrías decir "artificialmente alegre" pero personalmente no me gusta. Dependiendo del estilo de tu traducción en el contexto más general, podrías tomarte más libertades....pero ése es el sentido, como creo que lo percibe todo el mundo...
