que todo lo desvirtúan Explanation: Dadas las circunstancias, "difuminan" me parece una buena solución. Te propongo también ésta, un poco más contundente. |

que contagian todo/debilitan todo Explanation: "Sickly" is a verb, and it means "causing ill health". There are many ways of conveying the image in Spanish, and the choice would be tied up to the second part "with a pale cast..." Since "enfermar" does not sound right, one could place the "ill" meaning on the second part, and say, for instance: "Que saturan todo con un matiz enfermizo de modernidad" -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2008-10-07 08:23:35 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- The above definition is taken from the Oxford dictionary. My Simon & Schuster's says: "(v.t.) hacer enfermizo, endeble". |
