In a move too fast for me to see, the creature broke the mage's hold, spun and sent Pritking sailing into the window. He struck it hard, knocking the colored glass panel ouf of place, sending them explosing outwards.

Una opción, por si no quieres ser tan literal. También puedes usar otros términos, como "se zafó", si quieres o necesitas bajar el registro.

"Agarre" está bastante bien, sobre todo si es físico, aunque estoy intentando recordar otra solución (que no es "llave") pero ahora mismo no me viene a la cabeza. A ver si a algún colega se le ocurre.
