English term or phrase: to a pulp
Her boyfriend, who'd gotten up some momentum swinging from a chadelier, dropped onto one of the Casanova's boys, who'd been beating the vamp whose name I didn't know to a pulp.

haciendo papilla

Explanation:
"To beat (st or sb) to a pulp" es el equivalente coloquial a "hacerlo papilla".

¡Suerte!
