English to Spanish translations [PRO]
Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature
English term or phrase: skylight
“Little impertinent,” said he, “whence got you false keys? or are you beloved of some Genius that hath given you a pick-lock? I will try the extent of your power; come, to your chamber! through the two skylights; and expect not the company of Gulchenrouz; be expeditious! I will shut you up in the double tower.”

This is an extract from Vathek. I'm a little bit confused about how "skylight" is used here. Am I supposed to understand this literally? How can anyone walk through two skylights? Is there some other use of "skylight" I'm not aware of?
I will appreciate your help.

tragaluz/lucernario

Explanation:
Como más adelante habla de una torre y el tono es poético, podría ser "lucernario".

claraboya (practicable)

Explanation:
Existen claraboyas o lucernarios practicables, es decir, que se pueden abrir o cerrar por diferentes razones. Una de ellas es poder acceder a la cubierta.

buhardilla

Explanation:
It seems that it should be translated literally. The original French version uses the term "lucarne", i.e. skylight or dormer window.
