¡Hola, colegas!
Tengo entre mis manos la biografía de un señor que vivía en Nueva York. El documento incluye los nombres de muchas calles de la gran manzana, todos ellos llenos de números, puntos cardinales, etc.
Ejemplos:
East Ninety-third Street
Seventieth Street
East Forty-fifth Street
Forty-fifth Street

¿Cómo me sugerirían su traducción para que el texto se lea fluido?
¿en la calle 93 Este, en la calle 70, en la calle 45 Este?
¿o con mayúsculas? ¿o quizá invirtiendo el orden: en la calle Este 93?
Las direcciones no son para enviar un documento, sino para que el lector tenga una idea aproximada de la ubicación.

Normalmente suele omitirse el término "calle", y de esta forma se obtiene más ritmo y fluidez. Creo que es una opción más ligera.

Street names are not usually translated, although of course this may cause a problem in this instance. Still,I really don't think they should be translated...

This is the standard terminology, and yet in California I aften hear (on radio and TV) 'al este de la calle 93'.

agree  kellyn (X): I have a Spanish translation of Spidertown (set in NY) that I LOVE, and it doesn't translate other street names(Alexander Ave), but it DOES use 'la calle 149.' However, now i just found a page that says 'caminaron desde allí hasta Third Street.' ack!!
