There is a key part of Eastern practices we often forget: self awareness leads to realizing we’re all part of a larger oneness. In some ways hugging till relaxed develops the “quiet mind” Buddhism emphasizes. It involves clearing your mind and having your emotions—not “blanking everything out.”
