Sanville recalls telling a famous analyst that she liked a playful quality in his interpretations, only to e "sternly admonished" by him that psychoanalysis was a serious undertaking.

Explanation:
to admonished means to warned or corrected. Amonestar is a little stronger in stronger in spanish so I'd go with corregido.
