It is natural to want to be appreciated, but seeking for admiration is another thing, especially doing God's work. We can only do what God gives us the power to do. God alone is worthy of praise. We don't want to put on a cloak of humility. God doesn't want ***an affected pose***. The Pharisees walked with a bowed head as a sign of humility. They prayed, gave alms, and fasted. But it was "to be seen of men"—they were humble to show off. Why do we pray? Is it to be called "A great man or woman of prayer"? Jesus said we should pray in secret so nobody would know.

Pose es el término que se debe utilizar. Postura mas bien denota una posición corporal temporal. Actitud tiene un sentido de temporalidad mas prolongado.

Afectada significa no sincera o genuina y tiene como sinónimos: fingida, artificial, etc.

By the way, leyendo detenidamente, el texto citado es un extraordinaria reflexión. Hoy en día está tan en boga que hasta fastidia el hecho de hacer ostentación de la creencia personal en Dios. Las personas se llenan la boca con el nombre de Jesucristo, lo cual llama a suspicacia acerca de su autenticidad. Son mas bien poses afectadas.

¿De donde viene este texto? Vale la pena guardarlo.
