"Carried" is so hands-on! 21:33 Nov 3
I wish someone could come up with an option that picks up on the tenderness implied in "carried." "Llevados" is good, and "transportados" is very often used in precisely this context. But I feel like something is missing. "Transportar" seems mechanical and impersonal (please forgive me if the "Star Trek" imagery that popped unbidden into my head seems irreverent!). When I read the original text, I had a picture of my Dad picking me up and carrying me upstairs to bed. Maybe I'm reading too much into the text--but wouldn't that idea be a comforting one to a child who is afraid of death? Someone who loves me picking me up and carrying me to a safe place... Anyway, if someone can pick up that idea, I'm ready to give an "agree"--although the answers already given are perfectly correct. |
