En LBLA lo cambiaron bastante, dice "se torturaron" que no creo que funcionaría bien con el contexto de "inclinarse sobre una vara rota" etc.
Creo que 'traspasados' funciona perfectamente y mantiene el vínculo con 1 Timoteo 6:10 como parece ser la intención original. |

El primer "piercing" que se refiere a la caña quebrada hiriendo el brazo, es literal. El segundo es metafórico: "Pierced with many sorrows". A no ser que quieras ser literal y utilizar los dos "piercings", lo cual no recomiendaría, tienes muchas opciones a tu disposición:
"...después de haber sufrido muchos infortunios, desdichas, desventuras, etc, etc, etc, etc."
