Yo siempre he oído "isótopo", pero la RAE tambié admite "isotopo", con esta definición:
"Cada uno de los elementos químicos que poseen el mismo número de protones y distinto número de neutrones. Todos los isotopos de un elemento ocupan el mismo lugar en la tabla periódica y poseen las mismas propiedades químicas."
