Estudio geotécnico... Explanation: Geotechnical study for a proposed pier----> I think ii refers to geotechnically studying a spot to see if a pier could be placed there. (preposition for a pier and not of a pier). Pier can be easily translated as muelle. Other possible translations (but just choose muelle which is general) are malecón, desembarcadero, espigón.
