Explanation:
In Diccionario politécnico de las lenguas española e inglesa, Beigbederi Atienza, segunda edición, Díaz de Santos, 1998, dice:

CH steel = acero cementado

Note it does not say only "CH"

It includes the word "steel"

Plus, CH are capitalized.

Since you stated it is a metal, I thought I would throw it out as a possibility, por si las moscas.
