Explanation:
Los rumiantes (ovejas, vacas, ciervos, camellos, etc.), poligástricos, tienen una enzima llamada fitasa que hidroliza los fosfatos vegetales y ayuda a digerirlos. Esta enzima apenas existe en los monogástricos y el problema se puede resolver añadiendo fitasa a los piensos o por medio de la biotecnología, introduciendo fitasa en las plantas. Novo Nordisk de Dinamarca es pionera en el desarrollo de enzimas para piensos entre las que se encuentran la fitasa y la xilanasa que hace más digestibles los polisacáridos no almidones (fibra vegetal). La fitasa se comercializa con el nombre Phytase Novo y se usa ampliamente en Dinamarca donde se crían
