El equivalente del grado de Senior Chief en las armadas o marinas de otros países varía. En Argentina se trata de un suboficial principal. El Suboficial Principal de la Armada Argentina es el segundo más alto de los suboficiales, por debajo del Suboficial Mayor, y equivalente al Warrant Officer Class 2 británico (el suboficial mayor equivale al Warrant Officer Class 1, or Warrant Officer a secas).
