English term or phrase: We know what car enthusiasts want because we asked the tuners.
Dear All,

Please your help with this slang - tuners. In Spanish I could translate it like tuneadores. Somebody that improves cars by setting up expensive devices, such as speakers, big tires, and painting. Also the word is used for persons that " tune themeselves" by making some changes in their physical appearance in order to feel and look better.

The document where this word appears is related to cars and tires of an specific brand.

En realidad se empezó a utilizar para hablar de mejoras en los coches y después se tunean las motos y cualesquier otra cosa. Ahí entra también el lenguaje figurado. Uno mismo se puede tunear si por ello entendemos lograr un cambio importante de imagen.
