English term or phrase: bias
Hi,

I am having trouble finding a correct translation for this term. It is a concept to be defined and I am not using prejudice, as it is part of the definition.

"Bias - prejudice; favoring one opinion without being fair..."

Are there any translations that don´t include prejudice?

Thank you for the help.

-> Gracias Adriana. Diría que mi respuesta es un "educated guess". Sin más contexto es difícil saber por cierto.

disagree  María Eugenia Wachtendorff: Hola, John. Sesgo es la traducción correcta en estadística (tendencia viciada, error sistemático).

agree  Patricia Prevost: Sesgo se utiliza también en otros contextos, no sólo en estadística.
4 hrs

agree  Noni Gilbert: Sesgo is indeed the one favoured in statistics, because it is the term which has no negative or positive connotations - parcialidad has negative connotations. So Joel will need to decide what is most suitable for this case.

Explanation:
En todo caso, en castellano yo usaría las palabras en plural: predilecciones - prejuicios.
