Gracias. Era lo que buscaba. Aunque muchos documentos de EU se refieran a la "acción afirmativa", como comenta uno de los colegas, el español no es el idioma oficial de ese país. Creo que ya basta de traducciones fáciles y de falsos cognatos.

agree  ingridbram: Sí, puede ser, pero no estamos seguros que sea eso de lo que esté hablando.

  -> esta expresión se usa en los ámbitos sociales y políticos casi exclusivamente para referirse a la discriminación positiva, que la inversa de la discriminación clásica, promueve los intereses de las minorías en educación, empleos, gobierno....saludos :-)
neutral  xxxelpincha: muchos documentos oficiales de los EEUU usan accion afirmativa... si bien un lector lejos de contexto quizas necesita una traduccion como la tuya

  -> ojo con las traducciones literales, no siempre son la mejor opción...en este caso, en las traducciones que he hecho en torno a este concepto, se prefiere generalmente :"discriminación positiva" ya que "acción afirmativa" no es bastante preciso en español
agree  Rosa Maria Duenas Rios: De acuerdo con Hugo. Una busqueda en Google lanza igual número de resultados para ambas opciones, pero creo que "acción afirmativa" es traducción literal, mientras que "discriminación favorable" describe mucho mejor la idea.

affirmative, definitivamente sí lo cambiaría por positiva.
Affirm puede tener muchas formas de decirlo: apoyar, respaldar serían unas.
