En un texto sobre hermanos jugando, se lee: "He has just played one-on-one basketball or "hoops" with his older brother." Preferiblemente para niños mexicanos. He pensado que "hoops" es lo que en España llamamos "encestar" por lo del significado de "aro", pero no estoy segura. Gracias anticipadas por vuestra ayuda.

Explanation:
El one-on-one es que está jugando un "uno contra uno", ya que sólamente juegan (dos personas) el uno contra el otro.

Para lo de "hoops", se refiere a "tirar/tiros a canasta" que quiere decir que juegan por puntos que se dan por cada canasta hecha, el que más canastas (veces que se enceste la pelota), más puntos tiene, por lo tanto, gana.
Ocurre lo mismo para el uno contra uno.
