English term or phrase: known-group difference method

Another way to assess the construct validity is the use of the so called ***known-group difference method***. This is the most common method used to validate test in soccer and consists in comparing the test results between players of different levels or playing position. The assumption behind this comparison is that we expect that players of lower levels or players playing in a less demanding role also display a lower physical capacity.
