Explanation:
A ball plant is a set up where the final ball you want to pocket is not hit directly by the white ball and pocketed, but by another ball on the table. Of course you hit this ball with the white ball and then it hits the intended ball.

You can have 2 ball plants 3 ball plants etc... here you can see a 4 ball plant
