English term or phrase: midship pump
midship pump

(Firefighter) trailer tanker pump.
(It is not a portable pump).
Context:
The midship pump provides what every firefighter demands: an immediate response every time it is engaged with dependable pressure and flow.
There are five general types of midship pumps, and all have an integral split-shaft chain drive transmission located in the driveline between the fire apparatus truck transmission and rear axle.
Some of the main features and advantages include:
 Flame-plated impellers have a tungsten carbide surface much harder than tool steel, thus eliminating wear on the impeller wear ring hub resulting in extended life of the pump.
 A pump transmission incorporating a silent and rugged x-driven chain that easily handles today's high-powered engines and provides long-lasting, trouble-free operating life.
 Separable impeller shafts allowing for the separation of the pump and pump transmission without disassembling either unit. This means reduced repair costs and allows the use of spring-loaded mechanical shaft seals that have no leakage and require no routine maintenance.
 A maintenance-free ball transfer valve providing smooth transfer to either pressure or volume without sticking.

Would like to hear some opinions.

Thank you very much.

Spanish translation:cuerpo bomba
Explanation:

Suerte,
Silvia
