|Talking about glass manufacturing:|
"...for every 10,000 pounds of molten glass that goes into the machine, only 3,500 is used. The rest, called CULLET is recycled back into the furnace."
(The Spanish translations I've found aren't very satisfactory, they seem to be too long-winded)

Thank you, I also found "polvo de vidrio" on the EuroDicAutom, but you've hit the spot with "casco" -that simple!- Thanks, it's got me out of the rut I was in searching for a simple, straightforward translation.
