Bromuro de Etidio Explanation: El bromuro de etidio se intercala en la doble hélice de ADN y fluorece. It is generally used to detect the prescence of DNA. When you run DNA in an agarose gel electrophoresis you actualy visualize the DNA exposing your gel (which has Ethidium bromide) to UV light, and you visualize the bands because of their fluorescence. When you have a sample of unknown composicion you mis a drop of your sample with a drop of ethidium bromide and if there's DNA in your sample the drop will be fluorescent when exposed to UV light. |
