Agradecería me ayudaran a traducir la frase siguiente, en particular el trozo “that’s been embraced by the enterprise”. ¿Qué significa aquí exactamente “embraced”? Habitualmente lo traduzco como “adoptado”, pero en esta frase no le veo sentido. ¿Cómo puede una empresa adoptar un producto que ella misma ha desarrollado? ¿Qué opináis?

Yo creo que la cuestión es la siguiente:

Microsoft tenia originalmente 2 sistemas operativos completamente diferentes: el destinado a la mayor parte de los usuarios (la serie Windows 95, 98, etc...) y el profesional (Windows NT). Puesto que Windows NT funcionaba mucho mejor que Windows 98, cuando sacaron Windows 2000 (presumiblemente para todo el mundo) lo hicieron con tecnología NT. Windows XP sigue con la misma filosofía, es decir, que Microsofts finalmente se "decanta/adopta/decide potenciar" la tecnología NT>2000>XP y abandona a su suerte a la antigüa. De ahí, creo yo, el haber utilizado el término "embraced".

Sin duda, la respuesta de Imanol es la que más me convence, ya que los demás olvidan que “that’s been” es tercera persona del singular y que, por lo tanto, no puede referirse a “additions” (tendría que ser “that have been embraced”). De todas formas, muchas gracias a todos por vuestras opiniones.
