En realidad, se puede utilizar cualquier sinónimo (y jugar con ellos en apariciones posteriores para no repetir siempre el mismo término). Estoy de acuerdo con "iniciar" y "ejecutar". También puedes utilizar "abrir", e incluso "inicializar" si es una traducción para hispanoamérica. Cuando se trata de archivos (launch a file) siempre es más recomendable utilizar "ejecutar". Para programas o pequeñas utilidades (como el Asistente al que se refiere en este caso, es indiferente).
