No sé si te servirá de algo, pero en el slang londinense, hole in the wall es una manera jocosa o irónica de referirse a una cajero automático. Supongo que aquí lo utiliza en éste u otro sentido de forma figurada para expresar que la compañía 2 tiene una menor importancia que la 1 y que mientras una tiene toda una planta la otra es como un cajero del que sacar dinero (o plata, según el target country :-)), pero no se me ocurre cómo traducirlo sin más contexto de forma que conserve el tonillo coloquial :-(( Te envío dos referencias de puro slang londinense :-)) "hole in the wall - a common phrase used to describe a cashpoint machine (ATM). i.e. "Can we stop in the High Street on the way, I need to use the hole in the wall." This is a normal arrangement in many industrial plants, for example, many chemical plants use air and nitrogen produced by a facility owned and operated by a second company, but located within the boundaries of the former. This could be the case with Coca-Cola. The services provided by the second company are considered to be a commodity (and this explain the expression "hole-in-the-wall") The use of this commodity is secured by contract between company 1 and 2.
