English term or phrase: parts

Is it possible to translate PARTS as REPUESTOS? I know that SPARE PARTS are REPUESTOS, but could I translate PARTS alone as REPUESTOS? It is a formal document. (repuestos is a word used in Peru. I know it is refacciones in Mexico, and recambios in other countries) So, in sum, if a document speaks of PARTS for a machine en general, can I translate it as REPUESTOS? My client has requested it.

Cuando trabaje para un proveedor de un OEM usabamos "parte" cuando nos referiamos a la pieza original del equipo y "repuesto"a una pieza que sustituye a una parte. Este respuesto puede ser del mismo fabricante o de un fabricante autorizado y algunas veces no autorizado jeje
