Como bien se ha comentado, las U son unidades de medida para enracado de routers, servidores, equipos de almacenamiento, etc. en armarios/racks. Por este motivo creo que la traducción más adecuada sería añadiendo la preposición "de" delante de la unidad de medida.
Es habitual encontrarlo en inglés como "rack mount option" o "rack mount kit".
