Con esta manía de recortar del inglés, van más rápido que los diccionarios. Según varios contextos, "spur" significa "spurious". Cuando lo usan como sustantivo, el sentido depende del sustantivo al cual modificaba originalmente. Así, puede referirse a "spurious signal", "spurious frequency" y supongo yo que a cualquier otra cosa espuria.

Lo que también confunde la situación es que estas señales son picos agudos y transitorios, por lo que el lector (al menos yo) tiende a asociarlo con el sentido de "pinchar" de la traducción literal "espuela", pero es todo una gran casualidad confabulatoria. |
