The context:
In the last year I have given away bags of clothing to the Salvation Army, bins of winter garments to a church for a clothing drive, old bedding and towels to a local animal shelter and stacks of magazines to the neighborhood Laundromat and my kids’ school.

Un "clothing drive" es un evento benéfico para ayudar a las personas con menos recursos y conseguirles ropa, en este caso ropa de abrigo para el invierno. No es como un "garage sale" en que se vende la ropa. Es de donación.
