English to Spanish translations [PRO] Zoology | | English term or phrase: awn hair | sigo con el texto de los gatos... y la verdad es que no encuentro o sé si existe alguna palabra para "awn hair"?
Awn hairs are the intermediate hairs in a mammal's coat. They are shorter than the guard hairs and longer than the down hairs. They help with insulation and protect the down hairs underneath. Most of the visible coat is made of this kind of hair.
encontré awning , para toldo... y en etse contexto ( para el pelaje de los gatos) sólo se me ocurre "subpelaje" pero no estoy segura si es la mejor traducción para este término

Asker: como ya utilicé para "undercoat" el subpelaje, creo que aquí debe entonces referirse al pelo de arista
