English to Spanish translations [PRO]
Zoology / description of sounds
English term or phrase: screamed
I´m translating an extract of H. E. Bates´ "Alexander" from “Twenty Tales”. I don´t find a good Spanish translation for "screamed". I mean, I do not know exactly how to put it so that it sounds good and natural. Can you help me , please? Thank you in advance.

The line where the term appears goes like:

"A covey of patridges scurried, screamed, then spread out like a black fan and vanished, the barley ears aving briefly and lightly where they came to earth."

El comentario de Lucía me lleva a pensar que gritar es otra gran posibilidad: "Como el grito de las perdices que parece un gorjeo"
