3 hrs confidence: | metallurgists Wahunzi
Explanation: I agree with the new formulations of a word or words driven from English, but I would also like to remind my fellow Swahili speakers that metal technology existed in Eastern coast of Africa even before it moved to Europe and other parts of the world hundreds of years after the end of stone age. In Swahili, those people dealing with developing weapons, utensils and instruments using metals are called 'Wahunzi' until this day. The knowledge was passed through kinship and they knew the physical/chemical characteristics and value of different metals. For example, Washana in northern Tanzania, some tribes in Katanga (Congo) and the Asante in the midwest. The ancient technologies involved hammering and annealing although melting came later.
We'd rather stick to our original words and use a combination of old and new where necessary.
Example sentence(s):- Nitampa jembe langu muhunzi anifulie shoka
