The ”effective braking ratio” cannot be smaller than indicated in the table which constitutes Annex 4 to the Regulation.

§ 8. 1. Vehicles shall be equipped with braking systems, hereinafter referred to as “brakes”, whose effective braking shall be defined as the ratio of braking force to force stemming from permitted vehicle total mass or delayed braking ratio (attained along a horizontal, hard, dry and clean road surface) to gravitational acceleration. This provision shall not apply to snowmobiles.
2. The effective braking ratio cannot be smaller than indicated in the table which constitutes Annex 4 to the Regulation.
3. Brakes shall be recognised as being efficient, if the required effectiveness is attained without excessive rectilinear deviation of the vehicle trajectory and excessive vibrations. |
