Pressed to förekommer i en handbok för en synkrongenerator i avsnittet som beskriver en matare:

39M EXCITER
The generator is fitted with a brushless exciter to provide excitation current to the main field winding.
The exciter consists of a stator and rotor and is located outside of the NDE bearing.
The exciter stator is bolted to a small exciter base plate that is in turn secured to the generator frame.
The rotor is pressed and keyed to the end of the rotor shaft and is held in place by a retaining plate.
