Because the endplates are circular, it is possible to use them as rolling rings during the curing process. The stator is slowly rotated in the oven, which gives an even cure and prevents the resin from draining during the early stages of the treatment. The final product is a rigid structure free from voids and impervious to moisture.
The wound core is lowered into the frame from the top, until the endrings locate on machined ribs in the bottom half of the frame.
