Bl.a. i NE:s ordbok så står den enkla översättningen "område" med. Det handlar ju om ett område nära (typ ett område med kontorsfastigheter runt just byggnaden med ditt kontor), så möjligen skulle "grannskap" kunna funka, men jag vet itne om du tycker det passar in i textens stil.
