Explanation:
Det stämmer att notarius publicus är den svenska titeln. Skillnaden är dock att NP i USA är en ganska "lättvindig" titel, medan den i Europa har betydligt större tyngd. I New York, t.ex. kan man hitta en NP på varje kvarter, praktiskt taget. Ska man använda Notarius Publicus, måste man nästan göra en översättarens anmärkning också, eftersom det visserligen är samma titel, men INTE samma funktion. Deputy Clerk är en tjänsteman på domstolens kansli.
Jag är själv advokat och jag har dessutom arbetat på min mans advokatbyrå i New York.
